Trunk or Treat

Wed, 09/25/2019

Greetings from the Bowman Police Department, the time is getting near for all the little ghosts and goblins to be roaming our community in search for candy. The Police Department would like to solicit your help to keep our children safe during this time. On last year, we held a Halloween Bash at the Bowman Town Hall in the fenced in area, and we would like to thank everyone for the support we received, for it was a great success.

We have started the planning of this year’s event and would like your support if possible.  We are requesting any suggestions from the community to help make this year’s event bigger and better. The committee is seeking the participation from our citizens, local businesses and churches to come assist in handing out candy or providing an activity/game for the children in what we call our “Trunk or Treats.” The reason we started the bash, was in the attempt to give our children a safe place to Trick-or-Treat and for parents to not have to worry about their children running across the street in the flow of traffic in search for candy.

We will be having the Halloween Bash on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 5:30pm until 7:00pm in the fenced-in area at the Bowman Town Hall. We would like to thank you in advance if you or your organization would be able to participate or donate to this event, for your generosity would be greatly appreciated.

If you should have any suggestions or concerns, I ask that you contact the Bowman Police Department at 803-829-2511 or the Bowman Town Hall at 803-829-2666. If you are able to assist please contact either office listed above by 5:00pm on October 29, 2019 so that a spot can be held for your organization. If you are unable to attend,  but would still like to donate, please bring your donations to the Bowman Police Department or the Bowman Town Hall no later than 5:00pm on October 29, 2019. This is to ensure that all candy can be bagged to hand out to the children as they arrive. A poster with your business/organization’s name can be made to be displayed during the event.

Again, I would like to say thank you in advance for your assistance in bringing our community together for our children.

Sincerely,
Kevin Pendarvis
